5 Ways to Overcome Fear of Failure

Do you have a fear of failure that keeps you from reaching your goals?  Do you self-sabotage any endeavor because of this fear?  You’re not alone!  There are many people who have this paralyzing fear and are ready to make a change.  I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “change starts from within” before, so I won’t say it again.  I want to instead talk about attitude. Your attitude does predict your altitude.  If you go into a situation thinking that you’re going to fail, you probably will!  When obstacles arise and you start to doubt yourself, then you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Let’s take the life of Abraham Lincoln as an example of someone that persevered through hardships and refused to fail.  An uneducated man who failed at business twice, suffered through the deaths of his fiancee and three sons, and won only two of the nine public offices he ran for, never gave up.  He followed his dreams all the way to the White House and became the 16th President of the United States.  Failure was NEVER an option and it shouldn’t be for you either!  If you think about it, Abraham Lincoln’s many failures and setbacks can be a metaphor for those looking to lose weight and have failed time and time again.  Many of you have developed a fear failure and cannot bring yourself to try one more weight loss program.    Think about this before you let failure take over: “Accepting failure in the positive sense becomes effective when you believe that the right to fail is as important as the right to succeed.”-John Maxwell.    If you don’t move past your fear of failing by taking those first steps then you will never have a chance to succeed.  Here are my 5 ways to overcome fear of failure:

  1. Take baby steps-  Little changes can yield big results.  Just incorporating SENSA into your routine can bring about a huge change.  Open your SENSA Kit and listen to your DVD.  Make sure you consistently sprinkle SENSA on every meal and snack.  Drink plenty of water.  Most importantly, stop eating when you feel full.
  2. Embrace your strengths instead of focusing on your weaknesses-Write down everything you’re good at.  It doesn’t have to have anything to do with weight loss.  You’re a great parent.  You are patient.  You are an awesome friend.  When you start to get down on yourself, or scared of failing, take out that piece of paper and read it to give yourself a boost.
  3. Change your self talk!  Negative words bring about negative actions.  If you want to win and succeed at this program you have to start speaking positive things into existence. You can do this!  You have the courage to try!  You will NOT fail!  Positive mantras help you reach your goals, so adopt them for yourself.  Remember, thoughts become things!
  4. Set yourself up for success-Make a plan and align yourself with like minded people that will help you reach your goals.  The SENSA Community is a great place to find new friends that will encourage you to succeed.  Take a before picture, take your measurements, and weigh yourself so you know where you are beginning.  Then, from that point on, focus on being consistent.  Pack a lunch and some snacks so you won’t be caught hungry at 3pm.  Prepare your meals in advance and make sure to always to have snacks handy.  Carry your shaker with you at all times so you never forget. The last thing you want to do is find yourself in front of the vending machine starving and desperate enough to eat whatever is handy.  Make sure your cabinets are filled with food that will help you reach your goals.
  5. Join the SENSA Beach Challenge!  Get beach ready by summer by entering the challenge and gain access to free content and support tools that will help you reach your goals.  You’ll get weekly motivational challenges, dedicated groups and forums, plus customized meal plans and weight trackers so you can see your progress.  Plus, you will have the chance to win awesome prizes monthly.  Everyone who joins the challenge will be entered to win a Sandals Giveaway valued at $2,500!  What are you waiting for?  Join the SENSA Beach Challenge today!

When I started my SENSA journey, I had negative comments tossed my way. This could have been my excuse to stop dreaming big about what I wanted to be and how I needed to feel both physically, emotionally and psychologically.  I decided I was worth giving myself another chance. I determined in my heart not to let anyone intimidate me or deter me from my goals. I realized that my previous failures worked to my advantage. I would try again and again and yet again to accomplish what I had set out to do. My tenacity paid off! I lost 45# in 7 months with SENSA and went from a size 14 to a 4. Like Lincoln, fear of failure was not a concept I embraced but believing all things would work out for me if I hang on until the end.  Don’t let fear of failure stop you from reaching your goals. After all you are worth it!

Keep Sprinkling,

Coach Miriam

I started using Sensa on Jan 18th! I have gained 2 lbs and am very discouraged… Please advise! I have a cruise that I am going on with my husband and 3 boys and do not want to be in a bathing suit if this doesn’t work!

    Please help…

    Thank you,
    Nancy

My cruise is in June… help….

  3. Hello Nancy. Bathing Suit time with SENSA! You can do this. SENSA is non-caloric and alone would not produce weight gain. The most likely reason that someone would gain weight when they begin SENSA is that they are not yet in tune with their body’s hunger signals. Eat slowly, and pay attention, as soon as you START to feel full you should STOP eating. Stress works against you so take one day at a time Nancy. Best on your journey!

  4. can u please send all of this to my email address,,,,it would be easier to read….thankyou,

  5. Hello Laura. Thank you for writing to me and your interest in how to be successful on SENSA. It is really simple to use. Just remember to sprinkle everything you eat except liquids and drink plenty of water to wash out the toxins and fats. I look forward to your success. Best on your journey with SENSA.

  6. Carolyn Mason Says:

I hate it when I’m not up to speed……WHAT DVD?????

  7. Hello Carolyn. Thank you for writing to me. The DVD I am referring to is the one that comes with your month 1 kit. It talks to you about the importance of using SENSA and ways to experience success while using it. If you did not get one please contact Customer Service @ US and Canada: (866) 514-2554, if outside of the US: (310) 683-0952; Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST, Sat 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM PST. and they will be happy to see that you get one. I hope this helps.

  8. I started Sensa on Feb1, 2012 and lost 4.5 lbs in the first 2 weeks but seem to have hit a plateau. Is this normal? Will I see a drop when I begin Month 2 in March?

    Thank you

  9. Hello Judy. Congratulations on your 4.5# weight loss. Your body is in the process of making the necessary adjustments with a new weight-loss product. You will see more weight-loss in time. In the meantime make sure you take your measurements. Have a great journey on SENSA.

  10. Hi Judy. You probably haven’t hit a plateau. Your body is not only adjusting to SENSA, but also to the weight loss. We can’t say when you will specifically lose weight, but we know SENSA works with continued use, so we hope you keep sprinkling.

  11. I am happy to say that after hitting a plateau I have had another drop for a total weight loss to date of 8 pounds in month one. I will begin month 2 on March 1. I found I needed to make sure I was consuming 1200 calories and taking in my water requirements. Thank you for your comments. My short term goal is 10 pounds by spring break which is on March 12. It looks like I may make it!

  12. Hello Judy. Congratulations on your 8# weight loss. I am glad you have found the value of eating at least 1200 calories a day. This keeps your body out of starvation mode and gives it permission to let go of the extra weight. The best to you on your SENSA Journey. You are off to a great start!
