From “So You Think You Can Dance” “Dancing with the Stars” and “Dance” Americans are putting their dancing shoes back on and making some noise. Dancing doesn’t have to be saved for a good time out, fitness instructors are teaming up with dance instructors to create dancing routines that will whip you body back into shape. Dance Your Way to a Fit Body leads you in the right direction when it comes to dancing and getting fit! Check out some of the recommended dances below!
Zumba – Often called the “Latin twist to aerobics,” Zumba classes combine quick and slow rhythms, with aerobic exercise and resistance training set to fast-paced Latin and international music.
Hip Hop – An urban, ethnic freestyle dance set to hip hop beats and usually involves body balance and muscle coordination.
Brazilian Dance – Samba is a Brazilian dance based on cultural traditions, which includes syncopated, wild, hip-shaking dance movements in a high intensity, total body workout.
Belly Dancing – An Arab dance genre requiring the use of core muscles in a heart pumping workout that tones the arms, abs and legs. Belly dancing is incorporated into the Bollywood dance style.
Exergaming – Dance from the comfort of your home with active video games like Dance Dance Revolution and Wii Fit
