Easy Ways to Keep Active
Hey everyone,
Get your new year started off the right way by putting a little more activity in your everyday life! The hardest part of getting healthy and loosing weight is exercising. If you are like me, then there really aren’t enough hours in the day to make time for a work out. As a full time student, I am constantly doing something, but there just isn’t always time for studying, homework, class and the library, on top of everything else in my life!! Here are some of the things I do to stay active when there isn’t enough time for the gym or a run…
*Park a little farther away.
Instead of parking in the lot at school or the closest spot at the mall, I park farther away so I get a bit of a walk in. Just an easy quick way to get your metabolism going!
*Take the stairs.
This has been such a great way for me to get in shape. At school, I constantly have classes on the 5th floor of the building, so instead of waiting for the over crowded elevators, I take the stairs. It feels great, and really helps get me in shape. Taking the stairs on the way to where I need to go is a lot easier than the stair master for thirty minutes, and a lot more functional for us busy bees! (But be careful not to push yourself too hard on the stairs, especially if you have a heavy load to lug around!)
*Walk whenever possible.
If like me, you are fortunate enough to work and live around a grocery store and restaurants, try walking there instead of hopping in the car. Not only will this save money on gas, it’s a great way of incorporating more activity in your life!
