Enlisting Your Friends to Help You Lose Weight
One of the best ways to lose weight is to get your friends on board. Studies show that you’re more likely to stick to your weight loss program if you have support from those closest to you. And if your goal is simply maintenance, surrounding yourself with people who won’t sabotage you is crucial to ensure that your hard work isn’t undone.
With this in mind, my friends and I decided to start our very own cooking class. Twice a month, I supply the kitchen, my friend Beatrix supplies the knowledge and the rest of my gal pals come over to learn a new healthy recipe, drink some wine and enjoy a night of fun. This past weekend we picked a wonderful pizza recipe from this month’s Women’s Health Magazine and it turned better than I even imagined.
The pizza was not only easy to make, but with low fat mozzarella, whole wheat dough, fresh basil and jalapenos, handmade tomato sauce it was a healthy balanced meal. For those of you who shy away from spice, the article gave a variety of options allowing for you to experiment your way to the ideal pizza.
In my last year moderating the Sensa Community Forums I have noticed that those who really embrace a new way of thinking about food have the greatest success on Sensa. One cannot be on a diet for the rest of their life, but what you can do, is embrace eating in a healthy way and learn to enjoy what you love in moderation. And speaking of love, have I mentioned that I love pizza?! A life without it, would not be worth living.
Anyway, without further ado, here’s some pics from our first cooking class. Let me know if you try something similar with your friends. I’d love to hear all about it.
xoxo,
Miss T

I agree that friends keep you motivated to lose the weight. Now throw the fact that I can have pizza in the mix? I’m all for it!
