Every day that little voice inside of us tells how we feel about everything we think. Often times we find ourselves saying, ‘I’m way too tired to exercise’, ‘what’s the point’, or ‘I can’t do this’ and instead of pushing to do it, we listen to this negative self talk and become our own worst enemy. Our self talk has the biggest impact on our actions and if you don’t stay positive you can really start the self-sabotage and end up steering away from your goals. It’s important to tell yourself that you can and will achieve your goals and every day is a new day to work towards achieving them. Make all your thoughts positive and you’ll see that if you say you can, then you will. Don’t set up limitations for yourself that don’t exist.

Bumps in the road do happen. Maybe you forgot to sprinkle for lunch, or you overate for dinner.  Know that happens it’s no reason to beat yourself up about, just make sure you keep your focus and don’t lose sight of your goal. Don’t let these little mishaps get you down and use it as an excuse for why you ‘can’t do it.’ Always remember that there are obstacles you will overcome to reach your goal, and as long as you respond to them positively you can stay on the right path to weight loss success.

Build a strong support system. Having a strong support system greatly improves your rate of success. It can be difficult to reach your weight loss goals when you’re all by yourself. Congratulate yourself along the way. Celebrating your diet success will boost your confidence and encourage you to continue and stay on track. Reward yourself with that getting that new book you’ve been want to read, or treat yourself to a new exercising class at the gym. When you acknowledge your progress, you’ve shown that you’ve come closer to reaching your ultimate goal. When you find yourself trying to overcome obstacles, looking back on your achievements can make all the difference and lead you back on your path to success.
