Getting to the Truth
A few of you may have come across an article on Consumer Health Digest a supposedly trustworthy source for health information and wondered about the information presented.
It is understandable that one would feel upset after reading an article of that nature and be concerned about the effectiveness of the product discussed. However there is something everyone should be aware of. This is not a source for quality, unbiased information. ConsumerHealthDigest.com is a company pushing low quality products by bidding on reputable companies brand words online. They use negative postings about other brands to promote their own products in a “less-obvious” way. Unfortunately there are more and more sites like this popping up and it becomes difficult for a consumer to do real research on a product.
While it takes a bit of careful reading, you can often see through the murky waters. The biggest tipoff is to assess the manner in which the information is presented. A truely unbiased consumer health report doesn’t have anything to gain by giving positive or negative feedback on a new product, so often it is easy to see when there is a bias present simply by how neutral the writer’s stance appears. If you are unsure, you can view a company’s ratings on the Better Business Bureau’s new site Trustlink which is a great way to satisfy your curiosity for unbiased real feedback on a brand.
